WELCOME TO OUR L2C RACING PROGRAM FOR THE 26/27 SEASON!
All of our youth programs are designed around Sport Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development principles and follow Cross Country Canada’s program guidelines.
The L2C program is designed for athletes competing in the U18 / U20 categories who are interested in developing their full range of skiing skills, off-season training and have the desire to compete at provincial and national levels. A commitment to scheduled team training sessions year-round and additional, independent training at home and on the snow is expected.
The L2C program includes athletes in XC & Biathlon into the same training group.
L2C XC athletes may choose to remain in this blend of weekend and evening training throughout their Junior years or join the L2C Academy Program which trains primarily during the day. Check out the SD22 High School Academy program here: SD22 Nordic Skiing Academy Program.
Athletes will be provided with a year-round training plan appropriate to their individual goals. Consideration of an athlete’s involvement with other sports, time commitment to ski training, and needs are all factors that play into which program options and training plan offerings are best suited to an individual athlete.

XC Coach – Volunteer Coaches
David Gill
Coaching Experience: Originally from Québec and a proud member of the Innu Nation, David comes from a background as a national team middle-distance runner before transitioning to cross-country skiing. He now brings that high-performance experience to coaching, focusing on technical precision and long-term athlete development, while helping young skiers build a lifelong love for the sport.
Favourite Trail: Alder Point Loop
Fun Fact: David moved from Québec to Vernon with his wife and kids… without ever visiting the place first. The plan was simple: move west, find snow, and hope the family liked it as much as he did. So far, so good.
Kevin O’Connor
Coach Experience: Coaching since 2011
Favorite run is probably Zoomas loop with white elephant extension or Carlylewylie with woodland bell.
