This Privacy Policy applies to visitors, users, members and guests participating in any SLNC-sanctioned activity and to the following Sovereign Lake Nordic Club websites:

By visiting the website, becoming a member, purchasing a product or service, participating in a SLNC activity, you acknowledge you have read this Privacy Policy and understand that your personal information shall be processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We promise to limit the use of your personal information collected through the website to the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

 

WHAT IS PERSONAL INFORMATION?

Personal information is information about an identifiable individual. Your personal information includes your name, address, telephone number, date of birth, email address and any other information that identifies who you are or would allow someone to contact you. Personal information only becomes known to Sovereign Lake Nordic Club when you provide it to us, or when a third party, such as a travel agent, family member or other party makes a purchase or books something on your behalf, or when a third party such as a credit card services provider provides personal information to Sovereign Lake Nordic Club with your consent.

With your knowledge and consent, we will collect, use and disclose personal information about you, for the sole purpose of which it was intended unless otherwise required or allowed by law. Prior to collecting personal information, it is our policy to identify the purposes for doing so and to limit the collection, use and disclosure of personal information to those purposes.

 

WHAT WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE IT

Sovereign Lake Nordic Club is the sole owner of information collected on sovereignlake.com. We collect certain personal information from you at several different points – when you place an order in the online store, respond to a survey, register to receive an electronic communication such as an e-newsletter, or participate in other site features. Personal information may be collected by us through interaction from our website, through the lodge, from you in person, or by any other party providing information about you on your behalf. It is our policy to collect personal information about you directly from you where possible or reasonable to do so.

When ordering tickets, booking lessons, registering for a membership, or purchasing products or services we may ask you for your name, e-mail address, birth date, mailing address, phone number, credit card information. . You may, however, visit our site without giving any personal information.

E-Newsletter

Sovereignlake.com offers a newsletter to inform you of news, special offers and events at Sovereign Lake Nordic Club. Registered club members are added to the newsletter distribution list automatically.

We use Mailchimp as the newsletter service provider and abide by their acceptable use policy.

Visitors may choose to subscribe to the emails. Users may unsubscribe at any time. If the automatic unsubscribe is unsuccessful, you may email [email protected] and you will be manually removed from the list. We will not supply any information collected from you to any other company or organization.

Online Store
If you purchase a product or service from us via our online store, products and services may include but not limited to memberships, tickets, lessons, you are required to create an account and we request certain personally identifiable information. You must provide name, birth date, email, shipping address, photo and financial information (credit card number, expiration date). We use this information for billing purposes, to fill and validate online orders, tickets and memberships. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you.  

Event and Program Registrations

To participate in Sovereign Lake Nordic Club events and programming, you may be required to register online. We collect personally identifiable information from you on the registration form. You may be required to provide contact information (name, email, shipping address) and financial information (credit card number, expiration date). Parent or guardian consent is required for youth registrations under the age of 19. We use this information for billing purposes and to fill online registrations. If we have trouble processing a registration, we will use this information to contact.  Your contact information will be  added to a newsletter distribution list to keep you informed of event changes and notices. If you wish not to receive event notices you may unsubscribe at any time. 

Rental Equipment Forms

We require name, address and phone number for signing out rental equipment.  If items are not returned at the end of the rental period, we will use this information to contact you to recover equipment.

Gift Certificates

We require name, phone number and email address of the party that is receiving the gift certificate.  We use this information to update records on amounts remaining and reissuing lost certificates.

Ski Tuning & Wax Service

We require the name, phone number of the equipment owner.  We use the information to contact you regarding your equipment.

Ski School (S’cool)

We rely upon the participating school to obtain parental consent for the collection of personal information from youth to partake in our programming. Schools provide the student’s name, grade, parent/guardian name and phone number. We use this information for consent of attendance and contact in case of an emergency. 

JESS4KIDS Grant Application

We require name, phone number, email as part of the grant application process. We use the information to contact you regarding your application for funding.

Volunteering

There are times when we may have volunteer opportunities available. We require name, phone number and email as part of the sign-up process. We use the information to contact you in regards to the 

specified volunteering opportunity. 

Surveys or Contests


From time to time, we may provide you the opportunity to participate in contests or surveys on our site. If you choose to participate, we will request certain personal information from you. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary. The requested information typically includes contact information (e.g. name, email, phone number). We use this information to notify contest winners and award prizes. Please note, we may use a third-party service provider to conduct these surveys or contests, and that service provider will be prohibited from using your personally identifiable information for any other purpose. We will not share the personally identifiable information you provide through a contest or survey with other third parties unless we give you prior notice.

Requests for Information: If you submit a request for information or otherwise contact us, we collect your request and your identifying contact information (may include name, email address, phone number and address).

Support Requests: If you submit a support request or question, we receive your request/question and your associated identifying contact information. 

The personal information collected is used to respond to your request. Your contact information may be passed on to internal staff in order to resolve the inquiry.

YOUTH PRIVACY

Youth under the age of 19 are not allowed to create their own accounts for online orders. Youth accounts can be created under the direction of a parent or guardian.

We strive to obtain verifiable parental consent in order to collect, use, or disclose personal information from youth under the age of 19.

Cookies are used to help us remember and process the items in your online shopping cart at the Sovereignlake.com online store. Cookies are also used to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity, which allows us to provide you with improved services.

We use Google Analytics to help us compile aggregate data about website traffic and site interaction so that we can offer a better online experience and improved site design. The information collected is anonymous and does not contain any personally identifiable information.

PHOTOS & VIDEOS

Sovereign Lake will only use photos and/or videos of identifiable or recognizable people, or their name in advertisements and communications with sufficient permission from the photographer and identifiable person(s).

 

EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION

Users seeking employment who send a resume to us generally provide a name, address, phone number, and email address for Sovereign Lake Nordic Club personnel to assess the user’s suitability for employment and to contact the user about employment opportunities. Sovereign Lake Nordic Club does not sell or otherwise make any of this personal information available for other purposes. Only personnel involved in the employment selection process will be permitted access to an employment applicant’s personal information collected via email.

Personal information collected by Sovereign Lake Nordic Club is retained for as long as is reasonably required for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law, following which it is securely destroyed or made anonymous. OPTING OUT

If you wish to opt out of our newsletter you can select “unsubscribe” from the bottom of the newsletter. Once unsubscribed you will no longer receive future newsletters. If you are unsuccessful at unsubscribing please email the club at info@sovereignlake.com to remove your email from our system.
